about me

I am a PR Consultant writing engaging copy for websites, marketing materials, show programmes, managing high impact social media content and preparing newsdesk-ready press releases with confident sell-ins.

I have worked as a Journalist in the UK and overseas, as a Press Officer at prominent arts and charity organisations and prepared successful PR campaigns for theatres, dance schools, sports and leisure facilities, schools and community groups.

I am dedicated to combining this experience with my efficiency and passion for both PR and the arts with accurate reader-friendly writing to bring fresh ideas and flair to your projects and build positive and sustainable relationships with audiences, patrons and customers.

I am an NCTJ-qualified, award-winning journalist with experience on newsdesks and as a freelancer with specialist knowledge of the arts. I am available for news, feature-writing or coverage of theatre, music and other arts events.

I am committed to writing accurate copy which will engage and entertain your readership, whether it’s creative wording for a one-off flyer, revamping a tired website or regular content writing and management of your social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

With a BA (Hons) in Film, Theatre, Television & Literature, I am no stranger to creative projects such as scriptwriting, performance and poetry. I am available as writing partner, to review events, edit projects or to cast a critical eye over pitches.

My lifelong interest in road safety was consolidated in my role as Press Officer at Brake, the national road safety charity, working with the media and people bereaved or injured through road crashes.

In 2012, I initiated and developed a groundbreaking walk-to-school community project in my hometown and now put my passion into practice by voluntarily running the acclaimed and award-nominated Hoppa. The project has received Government plaudits, national and regional media coverage and is used as best practice and supported by the municipal council, Sustrans and the Co-Operative's Green Schools Revolution. On a daily basis, I manage a multi-route innovative yet simple, safe and healthy walk which is staffed by volunteers and teaches children lifesaving road safety skills along the way.

You can watch a brand new video of the Hoppa in action.

"Always a pleasure working with DEadlines. You are a genius when it comes to deciphering a bunch of words into relevant, engaging copy."  Krista McKenna (Berri Design)
"Dianne has looked after our PR and Communications for around five years and is a delight to work with.  She is professional and efficient and has helped KPSD go from strength-to-strength. Whether she's organising a press event or posting a tweet, I feel very safe in her hands.  She began by establishing effective social media and direct mail systems in 2014 and has become an important part of the KPSD team!"  Katie Philpott (School of Dance)
"Dianne has completely revived and reinvigorated our Social Media business presence, giving it the time and attention it deserves. She trained and spent her early career in both print and broadcast journalism which gives her the edge when it comes to producing reader-friendly and well-focused online content. Her years in journalism really set her apart from so many of the Social Media service providers out there. Whatever she puts online for us is superb quality – classy, polished and properly edited. I would highly recommend her to any business owners who want to stand out from the Social Media crowd." Stephanie Harding (TaxAssist)
"I will definitely recommend you (Dianne) to all my business contacts. We are impressed with your work." (new website copywriting)  Narayan Makne (VGCL Construction)
“I would recommend DEadlines to companies looking for PR support. Dianne is knowledgeable, skilled and can-do regarding all aspects of PR and we have enjoyed working with her.” Victoria Firth (Lawrence Batley Theatre)
“Dianne was an extremely reliable contributor with good editorial judgement who supplied us with interesting and readable stories. She took pride in her work and made great headway for us in establishing valuable contacts and through her written style, Dianne’s stories suitably captured the generic style of The News while also retaining her own individual style.” Brendan De Beer (The Portugal News)
“DEadlines provided a really efficient and effective service! An eloquent and accurate press release, followed up by a visit from a photographer resulted in £750 worth of prominent coverage in a regional daily newspaper. Thank you!" Christine Hudson (Pyjama Drama Huddersfield)
"I had the pleasure of working with Dianne on her very successful Crowlees Hoppa project producing a short film for promotional and awareness purposes. Her idea of reducing traffic outside schools and giving the children a healthy and social work to school is an absolute winner for the school, the parents, the children and also the rush hour motorists who find less congestion on the roads in Mirfield. Dianne was very organised and the filming was done very efficiently and effectively. I wish all my clients were like this!" Mike Walker (Tapebank Digital Video Productions)
“Dianne is a capable, efficient and trustworthy lady; she displays high moral standards of commitment and integrity and an ability to get the job done. I found her level of professionalism to be extremely high and her knowledge and media awareness in relation to sensitive issues to be an invaluable asset”. The Rev Ann Pollard
“I worked with Dianne at Bridlington Links and Howley Hall Golf Club where she successfully heightened the profile of the venues and their facilities through her ability to identify and deliver creative and surefire PR opportunities through both regional and national media.” Gary Watkinson (PGA Professional)
